Pouring from gallon milk containers?

Does anyone else have trouble with that FIRST pour out of a plastic gallon container? I seem to ALWAYS either dribble the milk down the side of the container or it makes a splashy mess when I pour it into my coffee? Is it just me? Is there a trick to making that first pour without a mess? It seems to also be more with jugs that you unwind the plastic strip from the cap, versus the jugs with the solid perforated plastic ring that separates when you twist the cap for the first time.
