Balanced equation for the production of nitrogen monoxide and nitrogen dioxide?

This question is pretty much saying that gasoline in a car produces nitrogen monoxide from nitrogen and oxygen gases, and then from that it produces nitrogen dioxide. It seems so simple that i don't even know if i understand it.
