Can I send packaged food to China?

My girlfriend is in China for an internship and I am sending her a care package. I want to send her some food but want to make sure it goes through customs. I am sending some bags of chips, bags of beef jerky,and some candy. All of the food is prepackaged by manufacturers... I bought all the food at Walmart if that helps explain better. I found a few things on the internet and I think it'll be okay but I'm hoping to get a response from someone who has actually done this. Thanks!
