Can u deke on NHL 07 for PS2 like u can on Xbox 360?

My buddy keeps kicking my *** on his xbox and I don't have xbox but I do have ps2. If I bought the game for ps2 to practice, will the controls be the same? My friend told me only xbox allows u to use the right og stick. Will I be able to protect the puck, stickhandle, shoot and deke with the right og stick the same way as on xbox? Who here has played both versions?
