A friend of mine, a writer, is writing a short story about Santa Cruz, California...?

He remembers visiting the city, but doesn't remember which plants and trees are growing next to the San Lorenzo River alongside the county courthouse. He remembers bushes and some trees (maybe bay trees, or eucalyptus?), yet can't seem to remember what kinds they were. These details are crucial to his story, and I said I'd ask for him. He can't check on this himself, as he's now living in Russia...Thanks!
